We can’t know where we’re going if we don’t know where we’ve been.
Making Gay History is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that brings LGBTQ history to life through the voices of the people who lived it — creating podcasts and documentaries, sourcing and licensing archival materials, producing events, and developing LGBTQ-inclusive educational resources.
In March 2020, New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development produced Making Gay History: Before Stonewall, a documentary theater play adapted from the Making Gay History book and podcast by playwright and professor Joe Salvatore.
The play is available for licensing. Find out more here.
